Having a pet go missing is one of the hardest things to deal with. If they run away or if they’re stolen, we do our best to get the word out and bring them home, but things don’t always go as planned.
One family in England had done their best to find their beloved cocker spaniel, Cassie, but as days turned to months, they began to lose hope.
According to Inside Edition, Cassie was stolen directly from the family’s garden. Eventually, months turned to years and it seemed Cassie would never come home.
However, in what can only be described as a Christmas Miracle, Cassie was found and reunited with her family – 8 years after being stolen!
News.com.au reports that the Sussex Police Rural Crime Team received a tip from the public about a house that may be hiding the stolen dog. The police, along with the RSPCA, raided the home and found Cassie!
Cassie was older than when she was stolen as a puppy years earlier, and she also wasn’t alone. She was found with three puppies, who authorities believed to be her own.
In an emotional reunion, Cassie was brought home to her family! The family also welcomed her puppies home.
“We are so thankful to have our Cassie back home, after eight years since being separated from her. Cassie has settled in very well and is enjoying her daily dog walks. As for the three puppies, they have all gone to good homes and are loving their new set family life,” a family member said in a statement, according to news.com.au.
